Listen to the Voice of Ipers

Justra Lectures is a project to invite experts in the area of intellectual property (IP), at home and abroad, to share their thoughts and practical experience about the frontier issues and latest development of IP, focusing the development of IP law, regulations and policies in the form of lectures, comments and seminars, so as to implement the strategy of innovation development and to construct a powerful nation in the area of IP. Its aim is to buil a platform for Ipers to share, learn, study and exchange ideas, to discussion ideas in IP theories and practice.
 
Justra Lectures are co-hosted by Beijing Justra Intellectual Property Center and Renmin University of China Academy of Intellectual Property and sponsored by Beijing Sunshine Intellectual Property and Legal Development Foundation (SSIP). Each lecture will focus on on topic, and invite one or two speakers to talk, and will invite one or two experts to comment on the speakers’ speech. At the same time, 100 elited from the IP industry will be invited to the lecture to be the audience, to exchange and share valuable ideas in the lecture. We believe the lectures will contribute to the healthy development of the IP system and industry.
 
Lecture I of the Justra Lectures will be held on December 13, 2017. The theme of the first lecture would be: “the Interpretation of the New Anti-Unfair Compeition Law.”
 
Since the enactment of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law in 1993, 24 years have elapsed before the first major revision to this law is completed. On November 4, 2017, at the 30th session of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth National people's Congress (NPC), the newly amended the Anti-Unfair Competition Law was adopted, and the new law will come into effect on January 1, 2018. Together with the Trademark Law, which was enacted in 1982 and revised in the year of 1993, 2001 and 2013, and the General Principle of Civil Law of 1986, the General Principles of Civil Law of 2017, and the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property that China acceded to in 1982, and the TRIPs Agreement that China acceded to in 2001, the Anti-Unfair Competition Law will become the cornerstone of the legal protection for trade designations.
