The director of JETRO Eiichi Yamamoto, the vice director Takenouchi Masataka, worker Wang Ying and Feng Yongli visit SSIP and have a meeting with leaders of SSIP on March 3, 2021. Prof. Liu Chuntian, the president of SSIP and dean of Intellectual Property School in Renmin University of China, Prof. Ma Yide, the deputy of National People’s Congress and dean of Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Strategy Research Institute and relevant staff in SSIP participate in the meeting.
The delegation and representatives of SSIP have further communication on the regulations and policy direction of the protection of intellectual property of China and Japan.
The director of JETRO Eiichi Yamamoto points out that Japanese enterprise think highly of Chinese market, and they are delight to see that over 30 regulations on the protection of intellectual property have been enacted in China. Besides, Japanese enterprise hope that Chinese market can be open and those regulations and policies can be carried out in China. At the meantime, Japanese enterprise put expectation on the 14th Five-Year Plan formulated by China and hope that the polices of the protection of intellectual property in the 14th Five-Year Plan can be put into effect, which reinforces the cooperation and win-win outcomes for Chinese and Japanese enterprises.
Prof. Liu Chuntian claims that Chinese government will stick to the opening policy. China has carried out many laws, regulations and policies to strengthen the protection of intellectual property ceaselessly, which promotes the development of scientific technology. Obviously, Japan does well in the area of intellectual property, from which we can learn. We also hope that we can have more chances to communicate with Japanese counterpart. Besides, Chinese and Japanese enterprises should have more opportunities to find common ground to develop the relationship.
Prof. Ma Yide also makes a statement that Chinese government does not only strengthen national protection of intellectual property, but also participates in the management of international intellectual property as well as studies from the advanced countries, which provides theoretical and practical support for Chinese market on the management of intellectual property. Nowadays Chinese leaders attach great importance to the protection of intellectual property. During the fourteenth Five-Year, various regulations and policies of the protection of intellectual property will be carried out. It is beneficial for Chinese and Japanese enterprises to communicate and cooperate with each other because cooperation and understanding can help us reach the win-win situation. Furthermore, Prof. Liu Chuntian is a leading authority for the research for Chinese Intellectual Property Law and also the founder of the subject of Chinese Intellectual Property Law. SSIP with Prof. Liu Chuntian as the president, has made great contribution to the layout of enterprises, decision-making for government and the dissemination of intellectual property concepts on the base of research of intellectual property law. It cannot be denied that we should also learn from Japanese advantages. We all expect that not only Chinese and Japanese intellectual property colleagues but also enterprises can have further opportunities to cooperate with each other. It will be more efficient for Chinese and Japanese enterprises to work together on the certain technological area and then advance the cooperation step by step.
At the end of the meeting, the director of JETRO shows his appreciation for the warm hospitality of Prof. Liu Chuntian and Ma Yide. They all express the hope for more opportunities to promote the cooperation and development on intellectual property for China and Japan together.
