The protection for privacy and personal information caused by the new media industry has become heated issue in the context of promulgation of the Civil Code.
The seminar on the issue of protection for privacy and personal information in the new media industry is planned to be held in Beijing Friendship Hotel from 13:00-18:00 of October 17, 2020 by Intellectual Property Academy of Renmin University of China and the Research Center of Civil and Commercial Jurisprudence of Renmin University of China, which aims to improve the communication between regulatory authorities and judicial organ and help them understand better about the trend of the industry to optimize policies and regulations in the age of Internet with intellectual support. The seminar will make research and discussion on the heated legal issues of network new media industry from two aspects, including “The Limits for New Media Platforms to Obtain Users’ Information” and “The Protection of Privacy in Civil Code and the Development of New Media Industry”. Representatives of enterprises, experts and scholars, legislative and judicial personnel and relevant administrative personnel will participate in the seminar.
