To further explore the new model of deep integration of AI and trial enforcement and increase the construction of high-end composite trial talents in courts, on September 20, Beijing Sunshine Intellectual Property (SSIP), Law Development Foundation, and Guangzhou Internet Court jointly held the fourth Internet Judicial Advanced Seminar, having Hua Yang to give special lectures and discuss AI and Internet judicial practice.
Hua Yang (Dr.)
Deputy Secretary-General of the Artificial Intelligence Alliance of China High-Tech Industrialization Association
A member of the Working Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence
A well-known expert in artificial intelligence and information security in China
Combined with his research experience in the field of AI for many years, Dr. Yang introduced the basic theory of AI and the integration with Internet judicial practice to participants of the seminar around the technical basis, development status, industrial paradigm, and industrial analysis of AI from common AI scenarios in daily life as the starting point.
From both theory-practice and professionalism-popularity, Dr. Yang provided a unique seminar to participants by using vivid ways to explain difficult and obscure professional terms such as AI, machine learning, artificial neural networks, and deep learning.
In the interactive session, participants had face-to-face discussions with Dr. Yang on the common issues in judicial practice, such as whether the works produced by AI can be recognized, whether robot judges would be realized in the future, whether AI would develop subjective consciousness in the future, etc. Dr. Yang gave detailed answers to the questions above. The atmosphere of the lecture was warm, and everyone said that they had benefited a lot.
Xianglei Hou, the vice president of the Guangzhou Internet Court, said that the Guangzhou Internet Court has made certain achievements in judicial scientific and technological innovation, and the research and development of judicial "black technology" such as the ZHI system for the trial of all elements of online copyright disputes and the 5G virtual intelligent court, has played a positive role in improving the quality and efficiency of judicial adjudication on the Internet. However, we also need to realize that the current technological development is still in the stage of weak AI. In the future, we need to embrace AI with a more positive attitude, improve AI from weak to strong, and further promote the deep integration of AI and trial execution.
Later, SSIP will also give full play to its advantages in theoretical research resources and carry out extensive cooperation in various fields with the Guangzhou Internet Court in the theoretical research and practical development of intellectual property rights.
